Was the "Arima Maru"
a japanese spy ship
in Peru,
in World War II?
The japanese ship "Arima Maru"
wrecked in the port of Mollendo, Peru,
in 1941,
during World War II,
many months before Japan attacked Pearl Harbour.
Everybody in Mollendo,
including the local authorities,
gave aid and protected the sailors,
in a great demonstration of friendship
between Peru and Japan.
Many years after the ship wreck,
some people think that the accident
was not real
and the ship's mission was to spy
the Southern Coast of Peru.
The strange behaviour of some representatives
of the country that owned the ship
contribute to think that maybe the "Arima Maru"
was a real spy ship.
